About Ceramic Coatings
What is a Ceramic Coating?
A ceramic coating is the ultimate chemical protection for your vehicle. Ceramic coatings are applied as a liquid and harden through the curing process, creating an extremely durable sacrificial layer. These coatings are much more durable than your typical wax or sealant and can even have an infinite lifespan when properly maintained.
Benefits of Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings carry many uses and benefits when it comes to protecting your car. A ceramic coating is going to make washing your car a breeze and is going to make your car look cleaner for longer. The coating will allow more contaminants and dirt to simply rinse off. It will also create a high tension surface, water repellency, and a slick finish. This means much less pressure will be needed to clean the surface, helping reduce the number of swirls added to your paint when properly maintained. It’s also going to provide a durable chemical protection from outside factors such as bird droppings, bug splatter, and UV Rays, providing excellent gloss for years to come.
What Can I Have Ceramic Coated?
We offer our coatings for many different surfaces including paint, trim, glass, wheels, and even paint protection films, which means you can protect every inch and surface of your car. On top of that, Driveway Details is always making sure we have the best ceramic coating technology out there. This means offering certified coatings that carry the longest lifespan and the highest quality chemical makeup. We always use specific coatings for specific surfaces, meaning our trim coating is specific for trim (See image to right for before and after), our matte coating is specific for matte paint or matte PPF, our glass coating is specific for glass, our wheel coating is specific for wheels, etc. making sure the chemical bond of the ceramic coating and the surface it’s applied to is as strong as possible.
Why Choose Driveway Details?
Driveway Details takes a lot of pride in the preparation process for our ceramic coatings. Every gloss paint ceramic coating job will, at minimum, receive our full wash, chemical decontamination, clay mitt and primer polish to ensure a proper bond with your paint. All non-painted surfaces or matte surfaces will receive a proper deep cleaning, preparation wipe down, and inspection to ensure the same. By having a deep understanding of the chemical makeup of our coatings, as well as proper preparation of surfaces, we are able to maximize the effectiveness of our ceramic coatings. We are also sure to apply each coating meticulously, often times with several guys and many light sources, in order to ensure full coverage and no left over product, also known as high spots.
Driveway Details is also a fully certified Gyeon detailing company, which means we have access to the newest and most durable coatings on the market that are only available to certified detailers. Our certified coatings give an even stronger durability with a lifespan of 5 years up to an infinite lifespan when properly maintained. This is possible through the use of Fluorine to modify the Polysilazane, increasing the desired properties of the coating, making it even more durable than standard ceramic coatings. While Fluorine is used in the creation process, there is no Fluorine in the actual coating. So, not only are you getting the best technology out there, you are getting it professionally installed, giving you the peace of mind knowing your money is being well spent.
